A green oasis in the centre of Hamburg awaits you in Wilhelmsburger Inselpark, which was created from the grounds of the 2013 International Garden Show. On 85 hectares you will find numerous recreational and leisure opportunities. The park offers a variety of natural areas, sports facilities, themed gardens and areas for playing and relaxing. Here you can go for a walk, jog, cycle or simply sit under trees and enjoy the fresh air. At the same time, the island park combines nature and modern leisure activities – ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and recharging your batteries.
The Inselpark is characterised by its versatility. You will not only find wide lawns and small ponds here, but also specially designed themed gardens where every corner has its own character. Sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth on a high ropes course with 39 stations or a floodlit skate park. Families are also catered for with several playgrounds that offer children a variety of adventures. At the same time, a dense network of water slides creates a pleasant, natural atmosphere - a real highlight when the sunlight hits the waves.
Secret tip: Visit the park on a spring day when the flowers are in full bloom – so every walk becomes a colourful experience.
Admission to Wilhelmsburger Inselpark is free of charge.
Prices may apply for special offers in the catering areas or for certain sports activities, but access to the entire park is free.
Tip: Take the opportunity to visit the park on a sunny day to make the most of the wide range of leisure activities on offer.
