Dialogue in the dark – Unique experience to experience the world from the perspective of blind people.

In the middle of Hamburg's Speicherstadt warehouse district, the Dialoghaus Hamburg invites you to an extraordinary experience: dialogue in the dark. Here you are invited to an immersive exhibition that is sure to turn your everyday thoughts and actions upside down.

What makes the dialogue in the dark so special?

The Dialogue in the Dark is a change of perspective. You navigate through different scenarios in complete darkness: a busy park, a bustling cityscape or a cosy café. Without visual stimuli, other senses are heightened - you hear more intensely, feel surfaces more consciously and perceive sounds more clearly. The reason for this is that you are deprived of the ability to see - only temporarily, of course. Blind or visually impaired guides lead you through completely darkened rooms and expose you to everyday situations.

A special highlight is the Dinner in the Dark. Enjoy a multi-course meal in complete darkness and experience what it's like to rely solely on taste, smell and touch. This culinary journey not only puts your senses to the test, but also offers an unforgettable experience that will last a long time.

Tip: For an even more intense experience, we recommend avoiding strong perfumes or scented cosmetics before your visit. This will allow you to perceive the subtle scents and sounds of the darkness without distraction
