For those who want to experience the Lüneburg Heath from a very special perspective, staying overnight in the shepherd village is a must. Located directly by the Wildlife Park Lüneburg Heath, this extraordinary accommodation offers the perfect mix of nature experiences, animal encounters, and comfortable living. Here, the day starts with the chirping of birds and perhaps even the roar of a lion in the distance – and ends with a view of the clear starry sky over the heath.

The shepherd village consists of cozy apartments and the characteristic shepherd wagons. The apartments are available in different sizes and facilities – from comfortable 41 m² units that also welcome dogs to the new Superior and Deluxe apartments with up to 54 m², additional underfloor heating, and partially barrier-free facilities. They feature a living room with a sofa bed, separate bedrooms, a kitchenette, modern bathrooms, and a terrace. The rustic shepherd wagons are a real highlight for adventure lovers: space for up to five people, equipped with a double bed, loft beds, refrigerator, kettle, and TV – sanitary facilities are located in the nearby washhouse.

A special extra: Entry to the Wildlife Park Lüneburg Heath and the treetop path "Heide-Himmel" is already included in the overnight price. This allows guests to discover the diversity of the animal world anew every day, enjoy the view from high above, and start their adventure into nature directly from the shepherd village.

For a culinary start to the day, a rich breakfast buffet is served at the Wildlife Park restaurant. Fresh rolls, cold cuts, jams, fruits, muesli, and warm egg dishes leave no wishes unfulfilled. The Wildlife Park also offers various restaurants such as the Elk Lodge, "Kleine Pause," or Grillhus zum Hirsch’n for lunch and dinner, providing a wide range of dining options.
